new decade, new determination

it’s been a long time coming;

looking back at the decade behind us, I realized there were about three (four, if you count my mom) people who encouraged me to start screaming my love of food into the internet void. I wasn’t opposed to the idea, so I began to contemplate why I’d spent years pointedly Not Doing That

I came up with excuses like “I can’t afford a good enough camera or take nice enough looking pics” and “I never measure anything, so it’s not like I can really write recipes”, among others. But that’s been a reoccurring theme: I don’t think I’ll be perfect at it from the moment I start it, so I shouldn’t try at all

but it’s a new year, and I wanted to try a new theme

instead of worrying if I could sprout lentils perfectly the first time I tried (last year, in the summer), I dumped some soaked lentils in a colander because I thought it’d be neat

I think sharing my food adventures on the internet might be neat…so I’m gonna dump some things on a blog and see how it goes, instead of sabotaging something potentially exciting before I even start

so, here goes! It may not be perfect, but it’s got plenty of time to grow. I hope if you’re reading this, you’re looking forward to growing it with me as much as I want to share that growth with you
